Let Zimbabwe Cricket proper Youth tells UK
26/06/07
The controversial trip to UK by Zimbabwe's Cricket Chairman Peter Chingoka and Ozios Bvute has sparked a big debate that the youth wish to express there own opinion.
After an intensive diagnoses of the oncoming International Cricket Council (ICC)meeting in London the progressive young Movement Free-Zim Youth has resolved and called for Harare cricket boss to be let to attend the board meeting with no interference to benefit the game of cricket in Zimbabwe.
This follows efforts by the Foreign office to ban Chingoka attending the 3 day meeting which is aimed at pushing Zimbabwe back to Test matches.
ZIMBABWE Cricket begin their battle for a return to Test cricket and secure the release of a whooping US$11.5 million for their World Cup participation when they attend the International Cricket Council (ICC) Board meeting on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Speaking from Brighton, Alois Mbawara
" We wish to set the record straight as a Pan-Africanist movement we strongly believe Chingoka's visit will benefit our ordinary brothers and sisters who love the game of cricket in our motherland, efforts to block will result a loss of US$11,5 million which is going to benefit the whole Cricket fraternity and the young indigenous Zimbabweans who wish to play professional Cricket.
"Zimbabwe's come back to Test matches will be a progressive step for the team,as much as we all hate the Harare regime, we never opposed the Nationalisation of the sport which was for long being seen as a Multi-racial (vana-vanashefu) sport".Yes R.G is the patron of the Game but destruction of the game have a negative impact on the ordinary,
"Our message is very clear let us separate Politics and Sports, this is why we as Free-Zim Youth has for long opposed the so-called Targeted Sanctions by external forces who are not the sovereign people of Africa(who are also part of the historical problem) which we feel have for long compromised our struggle and Pan-Africanist ideals, and have given the Regime political leverage in Africa,
"So if we block Chingoka from attending who will suffer?,is it the Government or the ordinary person on the ground?Let us not play reactional politics or advocacy which has no substance,it high time we as Zimbabweans raise-up and dismiss illusive solidarity"
" We have a crisis here of Zimbabweans in diaspora who have to face hard life with no legal status,no accommodation,no access to health, young Zimbabweans abused but can't report due to legality yet we have a host nation that says its so much concerned about the humanitarian crisis in Zimbabwe, well charity begins at home,
The Zimbabwe struggle has lost direction,(Murangano warasa ngwara!!)
